It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas - Class Parties

Class party day coincided with the 1 week anniversary of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary. Before the parties, there was a moment of silence and they rang a bell 26 times in remembrance of those who died there. It was very emotional and I was thankful to be hugging my baby girl during it.
Second grade rotated again and did lots of fun crafts at each rotation.

And they did a little dancing. :)

Aiden was pretty darn excited about his donut!!

There is a lot of diversity at Turnbow and we have really embraced it this year! A mom in Aiden's class made this pinata. The kids were so excited. They were also excited to get to sing a Spanish song that they learned:
Dale, dale, dale.
No pierdas el tino.
Porque si lo pierdes.
Pierdes el camino.
Ya le diste una.
Ya le diste dos.
Ya le diste tres.
Y tu tiempo se acabó.

And then when the song is over, the turn is over. It's so fun! And then it is stuck in your head ALL. DAY. LONG.
It was a tough little sucker! Mrs. Fulghum finally had to give it a whack to get it open.
Another big hit was the way they got their gifts. Every time she read the word "Christmas" they had to pass to the left. It was a little crazy at first! ;)

Lots of fun!! We love our school!!
