Merry Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve morning at Nana's house!

Dottie was not so sure about Brinkley and Bella coming to visit. :(

In the afternoon, we (Nana, Uncle John and kids and us) took presents and food to a family that was in need. It was a very eye opening experience. Later in the evening, we went to Kellie and Steve's home for our annual Karnes Christmas Eve bash! It was very fun... no scripted nativity performances or no games like Nana Barb would have made sure we had, but fun nonetheless. Aiden and Katie Beth are usually inseperable at family events.
Emma was ready for bed early... but there was lots more fun to be had!
Bre hooked Matt and Aiden up with some footballs signed by our QB, Ryan Mallett! WOW!! Matt was super excited!
Aiden and Katie Beth, so silly!
The family. And Emma opening the WORST. GIFT. EVER! And I can say that because I picked it out, but good heavens. Just say NO to the Barbie in a Fashion Fairytale Glitterizer! It glitterizes everything within 10 feet of it!!
The "new" Karnes kids (the Karnes kids plus Michelle's daughter, Faith)
 Hahahahahaha!! Steve got a Hog's shirt in a Victoria's Secret box. ;)
 Liv, Kaden and Bre.
Aiden and Katie Beth, playing with the Nerf guns that she got. But they had it backwards, because they had the one shooting wearing the glasses and not the one holding target.
Taylor got in on the action too. ;)

It was all fun and games until John left and forgot Chloe! Ha! Luckily, they came back for her. They are going to have to start doing a head count before they leave! But besides that, it was a very Merry Christmas Eve! Except... that we burnt the FIRE out of our cookies that we were going to make for Santa (at 7.5 g carbs per cookie).
But we left him some candy that Aunt Kellie made and some SF hot chocolate. :) And I am sure the reindeer loved the carrots we left.
And here are Buzz and Rudolph before they took off to the North Pole for a while. :)
More to come...

  1. Wow, Leigh! I almost feel like I was with you . . . . those pictures are so cool! And, if I haven't said it before I will say it now, your kids are b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l. Emma's daddy is going to need a long stick to fight off all the boys, and Nate is goign to break some hearts with that grin.

Happy New Year, Leigh, and I look forward to sharing stories throughout the year!
