"Pulling" in the New Year

We got to ring in the new year with the Karnes family and what does that mean? What else... by making sweets!! YUM-O!
Taffy... you gotta love it. We kids, in the Karnes family, learned at an early age how to get just the right amount of butter and flour all over your hands and pull FOREVER to make the taffy just the right amount of chewiness. But for some reason, we haven't pulled taffy (as a big ol' group) in FOREVER so we decided that it was time to get back into the swing of things.
Nana got the taffy all cooked and ready.

Gee, what's the matter, Taylor?

Oh, we burnt your hands with scalding hot taffy? Sorry! :) (by the way, see that dessert behind the Coca Cola? OMGosh! It was the best. thing. ever. Peanut butter, cream cheese and poweder sugar on top of a giant cookie with three kinds of chocolate chips! Not to be insensitive to Taylor's burnt hands, but man it was really good!)

The kids did some party crackers.
And played a little
Happy 2010 from the Evans, Vanover, and Karnes kiddos!

All this fun and we were still in bed by 9pm! That is my kind of New Year's Eve!!
